Engage : The first phase of the 5E Model is ENGAGE. An 'engage' activity should:
1. Make connections to students past and present learning experiences.
2. Anticipate activities and focus students' thinking on the learning outcomes of current activities. Students should become mentally engaged in the concept, process, or skill to be learned.
ENGAGE
You will need to contribute your thoughts to the topic, "What do we know about Drought?'. Follow the instructions below to add your thought to the Wall Wisher page. One post is required by each student of the class.
Instructions - To add a sticky to the Wall Wisher.
In the far right corner of the Wall Wisher page, there are 3 tabs (in pink). The first tab is 'Post a sticky'. Click on this to add a sticky note to the wall. The Wall Wisher page will open in another window. From here, double click on the wall to contribute your idea. Make sure you enter your name then add your thoughts.
After posting notes on the first wall, contribute to the second topic, "What would you like to know about Drought?". The ideas that you contribute will be the basis for your learning. Again, follow the instructions to contribute to the wall.

Once you have complete the above activities, go to the next section of the Wiki, EXPLORE.
